Building Custom Should Feel Clear, Not Confusing

A true custom home comes with a lot of moving parts. Land, site conditions, plans, selections, subcontractors, financing, weather, timelines, and budget decisions all need to work together. Without the right process, it can quickly feel overwhelming.

That is why Best Custom Homes takes a structured, transparent approach from the beginning. Before construction starts, we take time to understand your vision, your site, your budget, and your expectations so we can help you move forward with realistic information instead of assumptions.

Our goal is simple: help you feel informed, prepared, and confident before your home ever breaks ground.

The Best Custom Homes Process

What Happens During Construction

Construction management begins when your construction documents are finalized and approved, and continues until we hand you the keys to your home.

With almost 20 years of construction management experience, Best Custom Homes is dedicated to making this part of the building process as smooth as possible. Our approach is involved, organized, and hands-on, with detailed estimating, reliable subcontractor coordination, project scheduling, and ongoing communication throughout the build.

Through Buildertrend, you receive access to your personal client portal where you can follow important details related to your project, including:

  • Project scheduling

  • Project communication

  • Project bids and proposals

  • Project change orders

  • Daily logs

  • Quality control checklists

Transparency Is Built Into the Process. You should know where your money is going.

One of the biggest things that makes the Best Custom Homes process different is the level of transparency. Our promise includes partnering with transparency, building with integrity, committing to excellence, and never stopping improvement.

Throughout the project, we provide receipts, invoices, and expenses so you can stay informed without having to chase down details. This gives you more confidence, fewer surprises, and a clearer understanding of your investment from start to finish.

Our #1 goal is to give you confidence that your investment is being managed with care.

Communication You Can Count On. You will not be left wondering what is happening.

Best Custom Homes believes communication is critical to a successful project. During construction, our team uses daily logs, weekly updates, and ongoing communication to help you understand what was completed, what is coming next, and what decisions may be needed.

Their internal communication plan includes daily Buildertrend logs for signed clients, weekly status reports, updates on completed work, schedule changes, and what is on deck for the following week.

The goal is to make sure you feel informed without having to chase down answers.

Quality Control From Start to Finish. Built right in the places you see and the places you don’t.

A custom home should be beautiful, but it also needs to be built with care behind the walls, under the finishes, and throughout every phase of construction. Our process includes on-site oversight, quality control checklists, detailed documentation, and multiple sets of eyes throughout the build.

From your dedicated project manager to quality assurance support, our team is focused on protecting the details that matter. The goal is to make sure your home is not only finished beautifully, but built with the craftsmanship, structure, and long-term quality Best Custom Homes is known for.

  2. Construct rough framing

  3. Run rough plumbing, electrical, and HVAC

  4. Install insulation

  5. Install drywall and begin exterior finishes

  6. Finish interior trim and install exterior walkways or driveways

  7. Install flooring and countertops

  8. Finish mechanical trims and install fixtures

  9. Complete final finishes, cleanup, and exterior work

  10. Complete the punch list and prepare for possession

Best Custom Homes notes that construction steps may vary by project and that each home’s specific schedule is shared through Buildertrend.

From Final Walkthrough to Warranty

When construction is almost complete, we schedule a final walkthrough to inspect the home, review key information, and create a punch list for any workmanship items that need attention.

Once final items are completed, you receive your keys and begin making the house your home. Best Custom Homes also provides warranty support, including a one-year warranty for workmanship or material failures and a structural warranty referenced in their homeowner materials.
